Earlier this month, Gerard Van Herk and Jennifer Thorburn presented papers at the
Southeastern Conference on Linguistics in New Orleans. Gerard's paper was on early African American English corpora and Jennifer's was
a comparison of a phonological variable in two dialects of English.
